Everyone has a love or an expresses love towards someone or something, so much so that even a small reminder can set one aflame..
The PARAGON is simply that, a reminder. It provides, for lovers of God and neighbor, by offering the life of the saint or saints of the day, the Epistle and Gospel readings, and at least one quote from a saint, thereby facilitating followers of Christ, to love God with all of our being and our neighbors as ourselves.
You may ask yourself, just how committed should one be to those two requests by our Savior Jesus Christ? If so, then hear Him when He says: Love one another as I have loved you.

+ Holy Hieromartyr Paphnoútios
Some suggest that the hieromartyr Paphnoútios was an Egyptian bishop and suffered together with many other Egyptians, exiled to the Palestinian mines during the persecution by Diocletian (284-305).
The myrrh-streaming relics of the hieromartyr were glorified by miracles. The Canon in his honor was composed during the Iconoclast period (before 842). In the final Ode is a petition for the hieromartyr to put an end to the heresy disrupting the Church.
Acts 9:19-31 KJV
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
